Dear beloved Harvest Family,
Please know that you are loved and that we have been praying for you, our church family. At this time, we would like to communicate with you around the following three areas:
Philippians 3:14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
In a recent communication, we shared that arbitration was completed and that all items between HBC and our former Senior Pastor have been settled. Since then there has been a lot said in social media and it is possible that more is coming, causing division in the body of Christ. While some of what has been stated is a matter of disagreement, some is false. We desire our response to be grounded in scripture and in obedience to God’s word (1 Peter 3:9, Proverbs 20:22, 1 Thessalonians 5:15, Romans 12:17, and Proverbs 6:16-19). Therefore, we have no plans to make any more public statements about James MacDonald moving forward. We are looking ahead and focusing our energy towards the future of HBC and shepherding this church. If you have questions please reach out to your campus pastors or elders personally or via gro.lepahcelbibtsevrahnull@sredle.
God at Work
Psalm 46:10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Each week we have been meeting new people who are joining us for both our online and in-person worship services! It’s been fun to welcome people and to later hear about how the worship and message helped them to draw near to the Lord. It’s easy for us to take for granted the things that are familiar to us, but it’s so encouraging to see new people being drawn closer to the Lord through our worship services!
For example, we’ve had two families recently join our church who first connected with us through the online worship services. Now they are worshipping with us weekly in person, joining the church as members and a couple of them are getting baptized in the coming weeks! Thank you, Lord, for new life in our church!
“May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God”
— Dave Learned, Rolling Meadows Campus Pastor
1st Chronicles 16:8 Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!
What a great time it is to reflect on the many things that we have to be thankful for. We, as an elder board, would love to share just a couple of these things that are on our heart in this season.
- We are thankful that we serve a God who is big and in control. Our God knows what we need and He keeps His promises.
- We are thankful for the people of Harvest Bible Chapel. You desire to seek the Lord in all things and have shown yourselves to be incredibly faithful to the mission of Jesus Christ.
- We are thankful for the staff of Harvest Bible Chapel. You are committed servants of the Lord who have fixed your eyes on Him during a most challenging time in our church and in our world.
- We are thankful for those who serve in our church. Through your sacrifice and humility, you put other’s needs before your own for the sake of advancing the name of Jesus.
