Friends Together Relief Box

WHAT IS A RELIEF BOX?

Jesus wants us to love our friends. Jesus wants us to serve others. Jesus wants us to work together.

This is a partnership to support the amazing and beautiful work that has been happening on Chicago’s Westside through our friend Stephanie Marquardt and City of Refuge Chicago.  You can read all about this amazing organization through this link. City of Refuge Chicago

We will be serving our friends who call the Westside home through the help and partnership of Sgt. Jermaine Harris and Chicago Westside Police and Youth Sports.  Instead of us telling you about this positive impact, please watch it for yourself right here. Watch video

This community, that is less than an hour from most of our homes, has been through a lot.  And now, their community has been looted from people outside of their neighborhoods. They need relief and they need it now.

We have the opportunity to serve 500 families. Each Relief Box serves a mother and three children for nearly a week.

We are asking each of our families to help bring relief quickly. Through a massive collaborative effort of listening, learning and now doing, we have designed Friends Together Relief Boxes.  These boxes will provide fresh groceries, dry goods and household items. More on that below.

Together, we believe it’s time to ask the Lord to move in the hearts of our people for our friends on the Chicago Westside.

We have a need for resources than can be received through donations and serving opportunities. These are confirmed needs due to COVID-19 and now the looting and violence in this area. Many, if not most, stores have been destroyed on the West Side of Chicago.

We are seeking to provide households with fresh grocery boxes to fill their fridges to the brim! If you are able, please see the link below to make a monetary donation to this effort.

In addition to the fresh groceries, we will be collecting the below list of dry good items on our campuses to be delivered to homes as well. Please donate what you are able to at your campus (date and times for collection below).

  • 10 Laundry Pods
  • 2 Cans Tomatoes
  • 1 Small Box Dryer Sheets
