What will my child do at Kids Day Out?

Kids Day Out is a combination of a traditional camp and a summer faith-based camp experience. There will be indoor and outdoor activities including physical activities, competitions, crafts, and skilled-based activities. We will also use our camp time to teach leadership and virtue-driven choices based on biblical values. We believe children in Chicagoland can make a difference for good in our communities when they live outside of themselves through kindness, generosity, and serving something bigger than themselves.

Who is Kids Day Out created for?

Kids Day Out is created for children of Chicagoland. We invite all children who are entering Kindergarten through Grade 5 to join us at Kids Day Out. Everyone is welcome.

How can I prepare my child for Kids Day Out?

Dress your child in comfortable camp clothes, pack a lunch and fill their water bottle.  Apply and send sunscreen. Make sure everything is labeled. Read all your emails from the Kids Day Out team.

Does my child receive a camp t-shirt?

There is not a tshirt with your camp fee.  However, we may offer camp merchandise for purchase.

Who will be supervising my child at Kids Day Out?

We are hiring a summer staff team who are trained in Harvest Kids highest standards of safety, security, and fun. We have received applications from some of the highest quality people across Chicagoland. Each one is trained, inspired, and motivated to provide the best day for your child.

Can my 12–15-year-old volunteer like at High Five?

Each campus has a different policy. Please check with the campus of your choice.

What precautions are you taking for Covid?

LIMITED CAPACITY and SMALLER GROUP SIZES

We are currently limiting our overall registration capacity for Kids Day Out to 20-25% of our normal level for summer day camp. We are placing children in ShOUT  Team of ten or less including staff. The only exception we will make is an emergency situation. We will honor friend requests.

INCREASED SANITATION and HEALTH PRACTICES

Updated June 3: As our state is changing and opening, we will change along with them. We do our best to follow all the policies and guidelines placed on us without policing children creating a punitive environment. If our staff is required to wear masks, we will. If we are not required, we will leave each person to their own choice.  Our camp is created for the outdoors, in groups ten or less, socially distanced and with limited touch surfaces.

If you are 100% masked, 100% of the time, then you may wish to reconsider.
