How I came into a relationship with Jesus Christ
I became a Christ follower at the age of 12 at my local church. Despite growing up surrounded by drugs and poverty, my parents molded unconditional love and faith to our family of six kids. Then in college, I met some guys from InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and it changed my life. Through small groups, I was discipled and watched a moment that swept our campus and community. It was in that community that I learned the cost of following Christ and the joy of community.

How I came to Harvest
I met my wife in Chicago during the summer of 1993, while serving at InterVarsity’s Chicago Urban Project. It is a special place for us. We are committed to the city. After successfully transforming the culture of a traditional Baptist congregation, it was time to transition. I received a phone call from a friend on staff at Harvest inquiring about my interest in joining the Pastoral Team. The rest is history. God is faithful!

What I do at Harvest
I serve as the Lead Campus Pastor of our Cathedral Campus in downtown Chicago, IL.

Why I do what I do at Harvest
Because I want to impact the city of Chicago with the love of Jesus. And, I believe in sacrificing personal gain to accomplish something greater than my own fame is worth dying for. And finally, because I believe Jesus loves our city and all those who call it home. Lost people matter to God and I get to lead teams that develop the people who will reach them. Frankly, that is amazing.
